Curriculum
Developed by Teacher Strategies, Inc., “The Creative Curriculum” is the core program we use in all of our classrooms.
This curriculum allows us to plan, observe and evaluate your child so that we can establish individual goals for them. From these goals, we provide instruction in all areas of development to help your child grow and learn.
The Creative Curriculum was recommended by the Department of Education as one of the best developmentally appropriate programs available. Weekly lessons are planned around themes and books, with an emphasis on literacy. Because all of our staff have been trained in the use of this curriculum, they are able to provide your child with a well-rounded educational experience. This experience includes learning in areas such as social/emotional development, self-help skills, gross/fine motor development, language and literacy development as well as cognition. Weekly art projects, science activities, math centers, social study experiences and pre-reading and writing skills are also included in our daily schedule.
Our weekly lesson plans can be found in the classroom as well as emailed home each week. We encourage our parents to read it over, ask questions, give input and speak to their child about the learning experiences they receive at school!
We often take field trips to locations such as; The Apple Orchard, Pumpkin Patch, Zoo, local businesses, and much more!
